Scouting's Volunteers:

Scouting's adult volunteers provide leadership at the Pack, district, council and national levels. Many are parents of Scouts; many entered Scouting as youth members. Each chartered organization establishes a Pack Committee, which operates its Scouting unit, selects leadership, and provides support for a quality program. The Pack Committee depends on parents for membership and assistance.

There are many ways you can help support the Pack by being a volunteer. Parents help to coordinate specific events throughout the year, such as the Pinewood Derby, the annual Blue and Gold Banquet and the Camp Dearborn overnighter. A few hours of your assistance goes a long way in helping the boys to maximize the Scouting experience.

Pack Committee

Committee Chairperson: Supervises Pack Committee operation including chairing monthly meetings, assigning duties to committee members and assuring Pack adherence to BSA policies, proper record keeping and financial controls.

Advancement Coordinator: Manages and coordinates the Pack's Scout advancement plans, recognition ceremonies and use of uniform and insignia. Arranges for purchase of badges, pins and other forms of recognition awarded by the Pack to Cub Scouts.

Secretary: Maintains Pack records, records minutes at monthly Pack Committee meetings and handles Pack correspondence. Coordinates and publishes Pack Calendar in partnership with Committee Chairperson. Updates website and e-mail lists.

Treasurer: Manages and maintains all Pack financial records and bank accounts. Maintains and reports monthly on Pack financial budget and actuals.

All parents are encouraged to be a part of the Pack Committee.

Program Leaders

Cubmaster: Plans and conducts the Cub Scout Pack program, working with the Den Leaders and the Pack Committee. Guides and supports Den Leaders. Leads monthly Pack meetings and ceremonies.

Assistant Cubmaster: Assists the Cubmaster as needed. Participates in Pack meetings. Assists in various Pack activities as needed. Leads the Pack in the absence of the Cubmaster.

Den & Webelos Leaders: Conduct Den meetings with Cub Scouts in home on a weekly or biweekly basis. Provide a stable, active and enthusiastic Den and Pack experience for Cub Scouts.

Assistant Den & Webelos Leaders: Assist the Den & Webelos Leaders in planning and supervising Den meetings and activities

Activity Coordinators

Blue & Gold Banquet Coordinator: Coordinates the Blue & Gold Committee in the planning and organization of the Blue & Gold annual Pack banquet.

Day Camp Coordinator: Sets up day camp dates with Clinton Valley Council. Registers Scouts for Day Camp. Organizes Scouts and parent volunteers.

Space Derby Coordinator: Coordinates the Space Derby Committee in the planning and organization of the annual Space Derby time trials, races, and café.

Pinewood Derby Coordinator: Coordinates the Pinewood Derby Committee in the planning and organization of the annual Pinewood Derby time trials, races, and café.

Annual Campout Coordinator: Organizes the annual end-of-season overnighter for Cub Scouts and their families.

Activity Committees

Blue & Gold Banquet Committee: Organizes and runs the annual Blue & Gold Banquet including menu selection, hiring a caterer, selling tickets, finding and hiring entertainment, and decorating the hall.

Space Derby Committee: Organizes and runs the annual Space Derby time trials, races and café.

Pinewood Derby Committee: Organizes and runs the annual Pinewood Derby time trials, races and café.
